Ember

“Hey, that is beautiful.”
“Yes. It’s gleaming in the darkness, bewitching, seems magical and beautiful and gentle.”

“It’s the light of fire, the light that guides, warns, protects and allows life to come alive.
“It keeps you warm and is essential for survival. I love it. ”

“What do we do with it Eve?”
“Let’s hold it in our hands and bring it close to our heart.”

“Ouch.”
“ What happened?”

“I just burnt my hand.”
“ What about your heart?”

“My heart is glowing warmly, still basking in the light of the ember”
“What will you do now? You can’t hold it in your hand for sure.”

“ Sigh. I agree. The hand is burnt but the heart is not. ”
“I know. But the ember doesn’t belong with you. It has it’s defined place. It is supposed to light up many lives, guide many hearts, and bring warmth to many cold spirits. God created it to burn endlessly, with love and passion. It has a purpose that you don’t understand but you have to trust the Lord. It was not created for you. ”

"I understand that. But, I am afraid of the dark. It was my only light.”
“Don’t worry. It’s God’s ember. It can spread light from a distance also.”
