Blinded

“ Where have you been Eve? I thought you died.”
“ I am sorry. I nearly did.”

“Oh! What happened?”
“ It’s a long story. But let’s just say it was the longest entry of a new year.”

“ Hmmm..ok. I won’t probe. But why are you wearing an eye patch?”
“Oh!! I am having some trouble with my sight.”

“Oh God. You should stick with me, don’t disappear from now.”
‘I know Eve. I keep stumbling into the pole when you are not around.”

“So, what’s wrong with your eye?”
“Umm…the light of this new year is very bright. I can’t see well…and it has blinded me at the moment.”

“Well..don’t worry. It happens when you step out of the dark.”
“I am not worried. Just opening my eyes slowly.”
